1. Q. What type of speaker is Ian?

A. While he is best known for his keynote speeches, Ian can also present his messages in a seminar format and is also willing to lead workshops on certain subjects. Ian’s unique delivery style can best be described as a refreshing mix of inspirational and motivational with an educational twist throughout. Regardless of the topic or audience, people leave knowing more about themselves and their community as well as having a renewed desire to live bigger and better.

2. Q. How is Ian different from other inspirational / motivational / keynote speakers?

A. Ian’s motivation and goals are uniquely selfless. He speaks not for fame or fortune, but rather to motivate others to live deeper, stronger, fuller lives.

3. Q. Will I be able to preview Ian before I book him?

A. We’ll be happy to mail you a video (VHS or DVD) of Ian speaking. This preview video features one of Ian’s shortest messages, but is typically all meeting planners need to determine if Ian will be effective for their audience. For those who prefer to see live deliveries, well be happy to arrange a chance for you to sit in on one of his presentations.

4. Q. Will I be able to speak with Ian before I book him?

A. Definitely. In fact, Ian talks with all organizations before we book their event because he believes a personal conversation is the most effective way to best understand your needs.

5. Q. Does the price quoted for Ian include travel expenses?

A. No. Additional charges include transportation, hotel, food, beverage, microphones, flip charts, and any other expenses necessary for Ian’s trip and presentation. You may also need to pay for Ian’s assistant to accompany him on the trip. We’re proud of our reputation for keeping requirements simple and our expenses to a minimum. All charges are fully described in our contract.

6. Q. Who makes Ian’s travel arrangements?

A. We ask you to book and pre-pay for all travel through Let Them be Kids travel, www.letthembekidstravel.org, all the proceeds of Let Them Be Kids travel support the Let Them Be Kids effort around the world..

7. Q. Will Ian customize or tailor his presentation for my particular meeting and audience?

A. Always. This is why we require all of our potential clients to complete and return our pre-event questionnaire. After Ian reviews your comments, hell want to talk with you personally to learn more.

8. Q. Do I get to speak with Ian before he comes to our event?

A. We wouldn’t have it any other way.

9. Q. Will Ian join us at our dinner, cocktail party, or golf outing?

A. Sometimes. It all depends on Ian’s scheduling and preference. Ian welcomes the graciousness of an invitation to join your group for dinner and/or other social functions, with the understanding of course that he may respectfully decline. Ian generally prefers that the audience meet him for the first time when he is formally introduced. Also, the toll of a hectic travel schedule may preclude Ian from social events before his presentation. Since golf outings require a commitment to a certain block of time, accepting to join the group for the outing will depend on Ian’s schedule. These arrangements need to be made well in advance of the event.

10. Q. Will we be able to purchase Ian’s products, books and tapes, etc?

A. Ian feels strongly that his primary purpose at any presentation is to ensure that audiences take his message to heart and make the changes necessary to improve themselves, their organizations, neighborhoods and communities. After years of hearing hundreds of people's requests, videos ( DVD) are now available at The Changing Point's online store. We also have a unique opportunity for organizations to use Ian's videos as a fund-raiser for themselves or non-profits they support. Please contact Gina Hill for additional information.

11. Q. How can I be sure that Ian will be the best possible speaker for my particular meeting and audience?

A. By completing our pre-event questionnaire. We’ll also be honest enough to tell you if we don’t believe Ian would be effective for your event. Furthermore, Ian is the only speaker we know of who offers a 100% money back guarantee. If Ian doesn’t meet your expectations (never happened), we’ll refund the entire honorarium. That’s our confidence and our pledge.

12. Q. Why won’t you hold a date for me without a deposit?

A. Unfortunately, previous potential clients have asked us to hold a date for several days or weeks while they decide if and when they want Ian to speak. While we were holding a date for them, we had to turn away other potential clients. When the first client decides not to book Ian, we’ve lost the chance to speak with other groups. To prevent this from happening in the future, we require a 50% deposit to secure your date(s).

13. Q. What happens in the event that Ian is unable (due to an accident, illness, or travel difficulties) to make it to my event?

A. If Ian fails to arrive at your event venue in time for his scheduled engagement (never happened), we’ll refund the entire honorarium.

14. Q. How do we pay for Ian to speak?

A. You need to mail us a check for 50% of the honorarium in order to secure your event's date. Upon completion of his presentation, the remaining 50% of his honorarium is due.

15. Q. What happens in the event of a cancellation, either by us or by Ian?

A. If you cancel outside 90 days of your event, we refund what you’ve already paid us (the 50% of the honorarium). If you cancel inside 90 days of your event, we keep what you’ve already paid us. Ian has never canceled for any reason; ever. If he can’t make it to your event (once again, it’s never happened), we’ll happily refund what you’ve already paid us. If an act of God or war cancels your event or prevents Ian from traveling, we’ll let you decide if you’d like your deposit refunded or Ian’s appearance rescheduled.
